Settra wearily raised himself to his feet, before giving out a mighty roar that shook the very earth. He seemed near to collapse as his forces rushed to his defence, but he was determined to make good his words.^[7a] Here he was at last, the final, the greatest of the five gods. Settra was not one to be trifled with, and none of the lesser Chaos Gods dared step in his path. Now was the time for Settra to take full advantage of his battle dominance over the lesser gods, and not let the failure of his losing wars against the lesser gods like Tyrion or Archaon tarnish his judgement. He would soon be exalted above them all, and all the lesser Chaos Gods would be nothing but servants. Nagash smirked at this prospect, but Settra was the only real threat to him, and Nagash could not let Settra take pride in his victory. Siphoning the blood out of Settra’s insides, the dark god and his servants of Chaos rushed the shaken King of Kings with a new wrath. After a few swings of his whirling axe, Nagash had rinsed away the blood and healed his master, and for the first time in centuries, he was truly free of the unholy tyrants.

The ritualistic wails of the priests, the hymns, the clashing of the swords against the golden shields. All of this was enough to rouse the fallen Nagash. Hijad’s war horn sounded and the Stormcloaks raised their hands in praise, praying to the old gods for protection as they led the defenseless Nagash to his doom. Racing through the packed streets of Lothering, the furious Nagash roars for his people to stop and gave his last orders for his warriors to…

Nine times more the fire burst forth from Malekiths blade, and in each came the likeness of Phoenix Kings from a past age. With the last of Asuryans strength, all the spirits of long-dead Phoenix Kings wiling fighting at the side of Malekith in repayment for their sins, each one fighting with all the passion and character they once held in life. Only Aenarion remained at rest, for he owed his people nothing. Seeing these might rulers at the side of Malekith, all the Elves whose hearts were wavered and arms tired fought newfound strength and purpose in their cause. In that final moment, all have finally come to accept the righteousness of Malekiths cause. When Morathi saw all of this, for the first time, a glint of doubt pierced the Hag Sorceresses self-assurance, but this was a fleeting moment and all that required was for her to look at Tyrions stern features for her assurance to be reinforced. The fact that Aenarion hadn’t appeared was good enough for Morathi’s blind love for her long-dead husband. And so, with a great effort Morathi used up all her powers to create a mighty brooding spectre of Aenarion of old and sent it straight towards her only son. It would’ve ended there, were it not for Bel-Shanaar slamming his staff upon the ground and rose aloft from a column of crackling light to stand in the spectres path, killing both in the process. Thus was Malekith saved from death and the Phoenix King felt little sympathy for his death.
