Someone who says the verses given above in the light of reason, may be told that he is a clear disbeliever. Only the Sunnah and the rulings of the Caliphs can be used as proof.” (34:23-24). If the Quran (which is revealed by Allah) cannot be used as proof, what can be used as proof? The only way to prove is the Sunnah. Yet, the Sunnah that the Imam presents in his book shows that he had not understood. He presents clearly by saying that “It is not appropriate to explain the Quran by the Quran.” Yet the Quran says: “Say: Allah is it who sent down the Book on which is no doubt, and he sent down the Law which he has detailed; and Allah may forgive all sins. (2:62). If a person wishes to comment on the Quran, he should refer to verses in the Quran.
